I am 56 years old, although I don't feel like I should be anywhere near that age!  I have been married for thirty-two years and have two grown up sons and three granddaughters.  I work as Head of Department for the housekeeping department at a Cheltenham hotel.   I like to cycle, especially along coastal routes, and I have a passion for keeping myself fit, although the body doesn't always agree!

I don't have any specific qualifications for writing, other than I just love to write stories and English was always my favourite subject many, many years ago at school.   I was given a typewriter for my seventeenth birthday, and the stories began to take shape.  Looking back, I probably drove my family mad with the constant clicking of typewriter keys into the late evening, but when you are on a roll with a story - well, you just have to keep on going! 

Unfortunately for me I have always been quite shy when it comes to pushing my way forward, and all of those stories, when finished, ended up in a box and stored away.   And then came the word processor!  I have to say, thank goodness for technology!  It's all so much easier to write, save, delete and store these days. 

Now I have come to a time in my life when my kids are grown up and don't need me as much (that was the plan, anyway!), and it has been on my mind that maybe it is time to do what I want to do, rather than what I have had to do.  Having a book in print is a very exciting prospect, but getting it there is nearly impossible.  I had all these books ready and waiting, and spent a long,, long time editing, chopping and changes things until I was happy with them.   Then came the search for publishers!  Eventually I grew tired of standard replies from publishers who obviously hadn't even looked at the work, or those who turned out to be vanity publishers and wanted money for work they obviously hadn't looked at either, so I sat down and had a re-think.

I had a word with myself, took the plunge and decided to self publish through the Amazon Kindle site.  It's now or never, and I need to know what readers think of my work.   I currently have five books available as ebooks through Amazon Kindle, and if you would take the time to download, read and leave me an honest review, I would very much appreciate it.  I have included all the links on my book page.  Thank you for taking the time to come and look!
