Eliza's Song

Kyle 'Cass' Cassidy has toured the world with his rock band 'Demon'.  For twenty years they have been one of the top rock bands out there.  He loves the life, loves the adoration of his fans, loves to perform, and he wouldn't change any of it.

Until the night their tour bus collides with a lorry on a motorway, and his life crashes down around him.

Kate Williams is the single parent of a teenage son.  Their relationship isn't what she imagined it would be and they spend their days in conflict.  They live in the Welsh coastal village of Northavon, where Cass grew up, and she is one of Demon's biggest fans. as well as being the best friend of Cass's sister.

When she is called to help Cass through the dark, dismal weeks following the crash, the connection between them is unexpected, but their worlds are far apart and Cass seems to be on a downward spiral of grief that sees him looking for solace at the bottom of a whisky bottle.

Eliza Cassidy started work in service for the family who lived in the house standing on a hill looking over Northavon, when she was just fourteen years old, in 1865.

As Cass works through his grief and struggles to find a new reason for living, both Eliza and Kate will touch his soul, and help him find his way.

Gripping from start to finish. And you finish in a place you would never expect at the start. 16 March 2017

It held my attention and I found myself reading the type of book I wouldn't normally read and now looking for more like it.

A gripping story, believable characters, well with the read.

A Blue Bear

Lana Collier is walking a lonely road, soaked through from the rain, exhausted, depressed - and seven months pregnant!  She is walking away from an abusive relationship, and ex boyfriend who refused to believe the baby is his.  Her mother disappeared from her life several years ago, her father, on the verge of a breakdown because he can't cope with the shame her pregnancy has brought down on them, has thrown her out.   At the end of her tether, she waits for the next lorry to come her way, intending to throw herself under its wheels and end it all.

Jack Clayton is the driver of the next lorry to come along that road, but he manages to stop before he hits her - and he isn't pleased.  He is even less pleased when he realises how pregnant she is.

Told in first person, this is Lana's story, focusing on Jack's reason for being in Cornwall, for his bad temper, his reluctance to get along with those around him - and whoever is trying to make him leave the run down cottage he has recently inherited from an aunt.

Lana struggles to find her way, helped along by Jack's sister, Ginny, who in contrast is a lot nicer than Jack.  In doing so she finds herself embroiled in Jack's problems and starts to fall in love with him.  But the small blue bear sitting on the dashboard of his truck was put there by the woman who still holds Jack's heart, and he refuses to move on.

This story has elements of romance, thriller, drama and mystery, and the path to true love is going to be a long and rocky one.

Breaking Jake

Brad Adams has it all.  Or so he thinks.  His own house, his own business, and Carla, his beautiful fiancé.  Their wedding is being planned and he is content with his life, even if it isn't the big city life Carla would like.

Then Jake, his younger  brother, who left home without a word six years ago, walks back into his life and needs his help.  After his initial annoyance, Brad is glad to have his brother around again, even if something seems to be bothering him, and Carla resents his return.

The spiralling anger in the community is directed at Jake, who denies everything, but then Carla adds an accusation of her own, leaving Jake in a lot of trouble.

As Brad tries to protect his brother, the building animosity turns against him, and he finds himself in a race against time to save Jake.
